Choir cantata

The choir is open to all employees and pensioners who are admitted to the TU / e Staff. The choir members are all PV member, or member of a photovoltaic member. If the director considers it appropriate because of the balance between voice groups can be used a waiting list each voice group. The choir has no special requirements to prospective members other than that one is somewhat musical, inset shows for learning the repertoire and rehearsals attend whenever possible.

Conductor
The PV has entered into a service agreement with the Center for the Arts in Eindhoven (CKE), in which the conductor – the conductor – is regulated. Ruud Huijbregts (1961) was the first conductor of CantaTu. He studied at the Conservatory in Tilburg organ at Hub. Houet and Bram Beekman, harpsichord Gerard Dekker and choral conducting with Jan Boogaarts and Cees Rotteveel. Furthermore, he followed several courses, among others Luigi Tagliavini, Albert de Klerk and Kamiel d’Hooghe (organ) and Joop van Zon (orchestral conducting). Ruud Huijbregts is active in various fields: as an organist, harpsichordist / continuo player and he already gave many concerts as a choral conductor at home and abroad, and he kept several radio and television and CD recordings. He gave organ concerts among others in St.Paul’s Cathedral in London, the Utrecht Cathedral and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Bavo in Haarlem. Along with the Brabants Orchestra, he performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Music “Frits Philips in Eindhoven. He is co-founder of the Eindhoven Vocal Ensemble, with which he performed choral many major choral works since 1981. He was also co-founder of Friends of the Organ Foundation Music in the Cathrien (merged in 1997 in the Foundation Church Concerts Eindhoven) and the Baroque Orchestra “Brabantsch Muzyk Collegie”. At present, Ruud Huijbregts working as a teacher at the music Geldrop / Heeze / Nuenen and the Center for the Arts in Eindhoven, organist / conductor of the Eindhoven City Church St.Cathrien, conductor of the Eindhoven Vocal Ensemble, the choir of the Vokollage Eindhoven Student Music “Quadrivium” and the TU / e staff choir CantaTu.

Ambitions
Despite the low-threshold admission of members of the choir’s ambition to practice singing at an acceptable quality level. The conductor will hold this end regular vocal training exercises. The aim is to sing a wide repertoire of mainly classical genre. A selection of the rehearsed repertoire will be performed several times a year at concerts.

Rehearsals
The choir rehearses weekly during the lunch hour on Mondays from 12.30 pm-13.30.
